Manuscript notebook, on paper, in several hands, containing a wide variety of entries concerning several members of the Ogle family of Eglingham, Northumberland. A large group of entries dating from between 1641 and 1662 contain detailed agricultural accounts, including lists of farmers, shepherds, and herds of sheep; harvest accounts; lists of farm-related purchases; and notes on a coal mine located on Ogle lands. Other notes from this period include a copied portion of Prynne's Histrio-Mastix; an appeal to the clergy to support the election of its author (probably Henry Ogle) to Parliament; and "a perfect list of the officers and troopers under my command," dated 1648. Later entries, most dating from the early 18th century, consist mostly of draft letters concerning leases and family matters.
